They are using the Sensirion SHT-35 temperature/humidity sensor.
Overall, the Davis VP2 is an overall better station and is cheaper IMO (especially if they get rid of the wet bias issue with the humidity sensor).

I don't think the Davis VP2 is cheaper when you consider the use case for the MK4-c. The Mk4-c is like a VP2 with a Vantage Connect or Enviromonitor. Either of these remote connectivity consoles without the VP2 retail for $895. When you add the price of the VP2 you've gone over the budget for the MK4-c.

Didn’t think about the Davis subscription deal on WL.com. So the price would really add up.
