POLL: Your Green System's 6.8 Amplifier Gain Settings
« on: September 03, 2014, 11:55:35 AM »
Green systems have their amplifier gain set manually using jumpers.

This poll is being conducted to see what gain the 6.8 system users find to be best for their set up.

There are 15 possible combinations and the way to calculate your gain can be found in the manual on page 26
http://www.blitzortung.org/Documents/TOA_Blitzortung.pdf

Using only the far right jumper = 11, only the next jumper = 18, only the next jumper = 43, and only the far left jumper = 100.

Maximum gain = 172 (adding all together) Minimum gain = 11

I am at max gain, 34KHz HPF, Single-Ended input configuration and 10K input termination on mine. I also have variable threshold via a potentiometer. (documented earlier here in WxForum somewhere... #-o)

I have tried to make my "green" as "red-like" as possible.

p.s. I think maximum gain is actually 170. (per documentation and my gain calculation spreadsheet)
