National Weather Service Rain Gauge
« on: July 12, 2008, 08:54:55 PM »
Hello,

In searching the forums and by looking at different NWS field office web pages, I have seen them use and refer to the NWS official 8” rain gauge. Does anybody know where to purchase the same metal gauge that is used by the weather service? Thanks for your help.

I hope your pockets are, uh, deep.

Here's one.

$295.

Or a better one.

$4,323.00

I bought an old copper one from NiceBill that he found on eBay for $100.

Better latte than never.

I search the internet for them, like a scanner searches the air ways.
This is the one I have.  The old ones are very hard to find.  This is one of the $4,323.00 models.
