Old weatherlink account
« on: July 08, 2019, 04:43:04 AM »
Hello group,
I have decided to get back into weather monitoring from home (new location) by the sea as I have also recently retired.
I currently have a Vantage Pro 2 and a data logger.
It has been a couple of years since I have seen the weatherlink web page and it is all changed.
It asked for the DID and KEY numbers which it recognised the DID but not the key number.
It has also been such a long time I could not remember which email it would recognise.
I also tried to set the port forward on the NBN router but had difficulty with that.
I started to set up a new account which worked but would not accept the DID as it was allready attached to the old account.
Just wondered if anybody has had this issue and how to get arround it.
Regards

Stuart

Your post is a bit vague, eg:

What sort of logger do you have? I can't easily make out whether it's eg IP or USB.

Have you previously had an active account at weatherlink.com or not?

What's an NBN router and why is it or port forwarding relevant to uploading to weatherlink.com?

If you can spell things out a bit more then someone might be able to help.

Sorry, but I don't usually have time to help with individual issues by email unless you are a Prodata customer. Please post your issue in the relevant forum section here & I will comment there if I have anything useful to add.

Hi Johad sorry for me vague but I am not very computer knowledgeble.
It is an IP Data logger it has a DID and KEY number .
Yes I have had a  account previouslyand worked well.
The NBN router is the box that gives me wifi.
I need to add a port I think it is 22222 to get working on the home network.
Yes I understand about my spelling I have had a similar comment on another forum.

NBN is an Australian Internet service provider. Most people would not know this.

It would help if you updated your user profile to indicate your location.

There is no need to mess with firewall ports for what you are attempting.

WeatherLink is still tied to a device and the only method to fix this is to raise a support request through Davis. They normally do not take to long to respond.

NBN or otherwise a router is still a router and using a WeatherLinkIP (WLIP) with WeatherLink.com there is no router configuration required.

What I read as the issue here is that this WLIP was setup on WeatherLink.com V1 (?) which of course now is dead and that old account has most likely been moved to WeatherLink.com V2 hence is why this WLIP can not be setup on V2 as there is already a reference to the DID?

Davis may have notified the change via the old V1 contact/email which appears not to have been received for one reason or another. So yes one would need to contact Davis with DID/Key details and request if this WLIP does exist on WL V2 and reset or request the migrated user login details?

Hi group, thank you for the advise from the posts today I have been away all day.
I ended up calling Davis support direct and completely re set up the original account.
I still have an issue with connecting to the IP logger but maybe another call tonight.
Thank you again.
Regards
