copy the URL for your HTTP upload you have set in meteobridge
Hmm it was showing that but still uploading data. That's weird.

well I guess if your db is being updated you dont have to worry about it.... MB sometimes shows "interesting" stuff :D (personal experience)

If I'm doing 30 minute uploads instead of 5 should the numbers in meteobridge (eg. [wind0wind-max5]) be changed to 30 instead of 5?

Hmm my site is currently showing that the apparent temperature is BELOW the ambient temperature. Is something wrong or is winter coming back that quick? lol

The apparent temperature can quite easily be below the normal temp, it is calculated based on temperature, humidity and wind speed. This means that a particular combination of low humidity and higher wind speed can easily lower the apparent T. The formula used for calculating this is actually quite complex and based on the standard formula for calculating this,

New plugin - Weather History
« Reply #81 on: August 24, 2015, 06:23:55 PM »
A new plugin is now available called the "Weather History".

I got the idea of making this plugin when I saw the script for showing "On this day" weather events. This plugin however goes a step further and includes more information - info about significant tornadoes, earthquakes, but I have also gathered info about world weather extremes (not just US), etc.

Most importantly however, the script also uses data from your station! So you will see data for that particular day based on your own station data - for example you might see "Warmest day of the month", "Absolute minimum temperature was measured on this day in 2014 at 12.55" etc. This makes it quite interesting because you are not just seeing data from external sources.

Installation cannot be simpler - there is nothing you need to set up, just download and upload to your server. The plugin also uses your config.php setting for solar sensor, so if you do have one, it will also use data from it, if not, it will not do any calculations with regards to solar radiation.

Thanks, installation should be as easy as 1,2,3... just download and upload :D

I appreciate any feedback (positive and also negative of course, it is always good to hear what can be added, improved, fixed etc.) :) You can use the blog for this.

It was as easy as 1,2,3 and 4 - download the zip, unzip and upload one folder to website, edit menu.php and upload, edit lang/gb.php and upload ;)  Very informative!

Looking at ajaxknights29 site I see he has data in Station data Records but I don't have any in my Records page http://www.komokaweather.com/j-template/plugins/history/history.php.  Is that because he has new records due to new database, and there were no new records today for me in my 7 years of data?

Also "-- no data for this day --" in World Records and F5 Tornadoes.

For new scripts suggestion, how about a table of "this calendar date" high, lows, etc. similar to http://www.komokaweather.com/komokaweather-ca/wxthisdate.php

Again well done Jachym,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Yes you are exactly right, a very small db means you break records often...

No data simply means that for that day there were no events found, with regards to tornadoes, those are mostly in the spring and early summer.

You linked to the usExtremes plugin instead of the Weather History plugin.

I also just got it installed. Works great. Thanks! I made a little mod to it as well  ;)

OK, I will see, I guess making similar page will be easy. Just wondering though, I just went to your normal webpage and is there a way to get to the meteotemplate site? Or do you keep it as a secret :D

Oops and
I have a link on my main www.komokaweather.com site but have forgotten to add it to www.komokaweather.ca.

That will be fixed soon :)

Regards,
Paul

EDIT: Now added
EDIT 2: I could look at making the alternate sites' links more visible but both pages are already very busy.  Maybe need to get another domain? :P

LOL...

dont worry about it, in fact I noticed lot of people dont put a link to it, some have it somewhere in the menu, some not at all, I guess people usually use it more for their own info, its up to everyone how they want to link it if at all.

Btw. I will try to make something similar to what you have suggested with the past yrs data, maybe a bit more advanced of course :D

yes I assumed and hoped for that.  My little script was my first MySQL ever on my own (still borrowing much code from others such as your min/max).

Re template link; when I added the Saratoga template several years ago I had to decide which would be directly from my main domain and which would be as an alternate, and decided my Cumulus based would be the main for sentimental and other reasons.  Then I discovered, since I had got both komokaweather .com and .ca when I first got my domains, that I could use the .ca for the Saratoga template.  I could likely get komokaweather. org or such but that likely will not be any more visible than linking to j-template as I do now.  I had tested the Lueven template a few years ago and that then was the same issue - how to show it, and as an alternate site seemed to be the best. (since there is virtually no limit what we can do I may need to download and install the current leuven).  Your template is excellent Jachym, and more and more people will see it and give it a try and use as their home site.

Enjoying,
Paul

HI jachym

i been looking at your template and trying to understand why it dont function properly in safari or ipad, iphone etc...

so this line

<object data="redirect.php?url=liveData.php"></object>

what happens if you change it to
<?php
include_once('http://www.meteotemplate.com/template/pages/station/liveData.php');
?>
or

if i access through safari /  ipad this url i see the data http://www.meteotemplate.com/template/pages/station/liveData.php so I am guessing the object data needs to be specified as a type <object type="text/plain" data="redirect.php?url=liveData.php">

hope it helps

Hi Brian,

thank you very much! This surely helps and it makes sense! The problem is that until now I had no clue what is wrong and which line is causing the error... all I had was reports from people that it does not work and screenshots from online testing sites, where I saw a blank page :-)

I will see if it helps and try to work with the screenshots to see if the problem is solved. Unfortunately I dont have access to any Apple device, but what you just told me really helps!

Thanks!

- calculations of deviations
- simple graphical representation of the values
- units based on user settings

Installation:

- no installation (just download and upload to plugin folder, no need to set up anything)

Looks great Jachym, can't wait to get home and plug it in.

Unlike your current temps I expect our 2015 will be well below my 7 year average.

LOL....

I was actually considering including a note in the announcment "Do not install if your db is shorter than 1 yr", but then I rather implemented a fix, which will just display a message there is no data for that day :)

So you saved yourself work for next yr :D - Im happy you assume you will still be using this yr from now and wont get bored of it :D

I plan to run it for many years. Of course it will evolve over time both through standard version updates and through my own modifications. Makes me think of something though. Do you envision future versions of existing plugins? Right now, they are autonomous from the base template, but what if you need to make updates or add features, will they then have some revision number, etc.?
