Barometer calibration
« on: May 09, 2020, 11:38:00 AM »
Just noticed that my barometer readings on my WH3000SE, are around 10 hpa to the lower side than what all the different weather services are reporting from the area. However, I live up relatively high (around 90 meters above sea level), so I'm not sure if that would be the reason for my lower readings ? If not how do i calibrate the station? I also have a GW1000

Everyone has their own way of calibrating; but this what I use:

https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=38475.msg405052#msg405052.

Is it the right way...maybe... it works for me. Just change the steps on how to calibrate your station.

Okay, what steps?  What do you think he should do?

1. Read the User Guide. It has calibration procedures.
2. Compare (min four reporting cycles) the Local METAR against the PWS. Calculate the difference.
3. Enter the calculated value into PWS.  Ensure the value is +/- 0.03 inHg (+/- 1 mb)
4. Repeat this procedure every four months.

Ai tried using this method, and that actually confirms that my station is indeed reporting correctly, when i put in my height over sealevel.

Thanks for the help!
