Title: Good News..and Bad News re: Cumulus, Ambient 2080 and Verizon Web Space
Post by: paleoguy on October 27, 2011, 11:36:51 AM
First, the good news: my new 2080 is up and running like a champ!  It is receiving solid signals from sensors that are in the back yard that must go through several walls and about 80 ft. of space.  Further good news is that the Cumulus software started running data to CWOP and WeatherUnderground with the very first try.  OK, maybe the second try after I straightened out MY error.

The not-so-good news:  in August of 2011, Verizon stopped accepting ftp transfers to personal web spaces due to 'security' issues.  So I can't set up my web page on Verizon, using Cumulus.  Or can I?

If anyone knows a way around this, I'd appreciate knowing.

Thanks.

Do they accept SFTP?
the only other way around it is to use an alternative hosting service
there have many suggestions posted here on this forum over the years, like e-rice.com
