New error message on gain
« on: June 20, 2014, 10:15:25 PM »
Anyone ever see this?

:!:Conflict with shared channel (wanted 233mV). Desired gain can not be reached!

It was on Channel A of the Amp2 E-Field.

Quote
Amplifier 2 - PCB 13.1 - FW 1.7

    CommunicationRx: 4s ago / Tx: 4s ago
    Channel A
TriggerConflict with shared channel (wanted 233mV). Desired gain can not be reached!
        Gains10 * 1 * 16 = Total Gain 160
        Noise128mVpp
        Auto Ampl.Filter amplitudes around -235, -141, -47, 47, 141mV
    Channel B
        Trigger-97mV/103mV, reached 0 times in last 4s
        Gains10 * 32 * 16 = Total Gain 5120 | Relative Gain 5120 (100%)
        Noise10mVpp
        Auto Ampl.Filter amplitudes around -47, 47mV
    Channel C
        Trigger-55mV/59mV, reached 16 times in last 7s
        Gains10 * 10 * 10 = Total Gain 1000 | Relative Gain 1754 (34%)
        Noise30mVpp
        Auto Ampl.Filter amplitudes around -47, 47mV

It was under server "full auto" control. I put it back to manual and the message disappeared. (with different gains)

I'm looking at the exact same error message for my Amp 2 Channel B except that it says "wanted 199mv". I'm in Manual Mode with Auto Adapt to Noise enabled. Am going to leave it alone for a while and see what happens.

As I am watching it, it is changing "wanted" values so it looks like it is trying to get a value that will take it out of interference mode.

I see it on occasion as well. It's an artifact of running two amps with the "alternate channel mapping" with auto-adjust to noise enabled.

With one amp and normal channel mapping, auto-adjust to noise could adjust each channel's threshold individually. Now, with two amps and alternate channel mapping, channels A and B thresholds of each amp must be adjusted together. If the auto-adjust can't adjust the relative gain of one channel by moving the threshold to the target value (as it is constrained by the shared thresholds), the error message is shown. It's part of the compromise I mentioned. It is normal behavior, with the current firmware.
