PWS Mounting Position
« on: December 01, 2018, 06:03:29 PM »
Hi,
Considering a PWS type Vantage Vue or similar(Ambient Weather 2000,...) what should be the best position in order to have a best relationship between temperature and Wind?
With this kind of PWS we have all sensors in same block, we can not detach wind sensor.

Can you please comment?
Thanks in advance for your attention.

Have a nice weekend.

Manuel

Reading this (paragraph 2 on page 12) should answer your questions:  https://weather.gladstonefamily.net/CWOP_Guide.pdf

Brevit answers are:

• Temperature @ 5-feet above ground (RH is assumed to be same height as temp).
• Anemometer @ 30-feet above ground; which is typically not possible, so must compromise, usually just as high as possible.

Thanks for good information.

Reading all the material, again thanks
Manuel
