Topic: Ecowitt hp2553

Sent a message to CS at Ecowitt (x2) with some questions re the HP2553. Their response was sorry they could not send a unit to the USA because Ambient had exclusive rites. Their was also some oriental script which i could not decipher.
Where are you guys buying your systems?

In the US if you want a station with a WS80 ultrasonic anemometer then here are your options

- Buy the Ambient WS-5000

or...

- Buy the GW1002 and then order the WS80 part from Ambient. Add the HP2551-C display console if you'd like. Then keep the WS68 as a spare or sell the WS68.

The rest of the world can buy the HP2553 or the GW1003, but you in the US can't.

Much thanks Galfert. One great benefit of the WS5000 or HP2553 is the RF range is 3x times that of the other systems. By building via the component method, will I still benefit from the extended range?

Like the OP, this is what I'm considering buying, and now need to re-evaluate.

I'm new at this, so I need some clarification: If i go the the the GW1002/HP2551-C from EcoWitt and the WS80 from Ambient, I would A) also need to order the Ambient Weatherbridge if I want to connect to the Ambient network, and B) the WS80 will show up in the HP25511-C, yes?
