There seems to be confusion for new users of the HWS-Template (WD34) version, especially Brian Underdown is still getting multiple requests each day from non-weather34/ users.
The code of a weather34/ version and the WD34 version is more then 90% different, especially the way the scripts operate internally. As I can not answer an internal weather34/ question, BrianU can not answer the WD34 questions either.
As requested by BrianU, I already removed all links to weather34 in the April version.
Also almost all credits with BrianU's name or "weather34" are already removed from scripts and documentation.
But new users or users of very old versions see the
34 in WD34 and address their questions directly to one of the e-mail adreses of weather34 => BrianU as those links/email are embedded in all weather34/ versions, new or old.
BrianU answers those questions and direct them to the
http : // wd34 weather-template com / https://pwsdashboard.com website.
I asked him to not answer those mails but forward them to my email weathertemplate (at) gmail.com which I use for all my scripts/templates. Maybe that will lessen the work, but not the confusion.
I assume that a name change is a long term solution. It will lessen the confusion in the future, but I am hesitant to define a new name without the feedback from
the current users of any of the HWS-type templates, old or new.
If you propose a new template-name, it should be generic without my name as this is more and more a community effort and some users are already writing new blocks to be used by all.
And doctors allowed me a 12 day vacation
as from tomorrow, so I post this poll here.
I will read my mail and your proposals, but posting is more difficult until July 29.
