Ant infestation in transmitter board - possible damage?
« on: August 28, 2020, 12:33:35 PM »
I'm sure some of you have had this happen before, but I found a large infestation of ants in my transmitter board. I even had to take the firmware box off exposing the capacitor to get them all out (and there were alot of them!). They were even under where the capacitor is so I had to shake the box swiftly to try to get them all out. My question, is it possible for them to damage any of the electronics at all? I did not spray anything to kill them given that I did not want to further damage anything, so I just killed them all with my fingers and a napkin. So long story short, does anyone think they could have done any harm to it? Thanks!

Potentially there could be residue that could cause corrosion to the tracks on the PCB.

A close inspection with a magnifier would be worth while & if there's any "stuff",
give it a light clean with Isopropyl alcohol or metho.

Light scrub with a tooth brush is fine.
