Vantage Vue 6250 Super Capacitor Replacement
« on: December 01, 2019, 03:39:44 PM »
I have a Vantage Vue 6250 that appears to need a super capacitor replacement. I'm looking for information about how to open it up to reveal the circuit board: I have extensive soldering experience and have read the warnings about stressing the leads at the capacitor seals as well as over-temperature of the seals. But I can't find any insight about how best to get the ISS apart. It's a bit of a chore to get it down form the tower and back up again, and I'd like to do it all on the same day without breaking anything.

Any advice is appreciated!

See here. But I've learned that the super cap in the Vue is epoxyed potted. You may have to leave it in and find a way to accommodate new with old using existing leads.

Don't know how to open. I'm sure some else will chime in.
