Now I am reaching out for some help. If you have been following the forum lately, I had my VP2 sent away for repair for the past month and I just got it back. The hardware all appears to be working. That's the good news. However, I cannot regain communications with the PC. When I first had my problems back a month ago, I downloaded and installed the latest version of the CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller as part of my troubleshooting. This has become an issue today.
I am running both Weatherlink (5.7.1) and VWS at different times (no VPP). At this point I am just trying to get WL going first. To start fresh, I reinstalled the latest version of CP210x. Fine. When I plugged in the USB cable to the PC from the console, windows opens the "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard"...this wizard helps you install software for CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller. I said go ahead and it came back "hardware was not installed because the wizard connot find the necessary software" Huh? I just installed the CP210x.
When I look at the Device Manager, I see that the console is seen as an "Other Device" with the CP2102 below it. When I select it it says the drivers are not installed. I thought it was supposed to pick up the console (CP2102) in Device Manager under "Ports (COM and LPT)".
I have been looking at this all day now and I am getting weary. I can't find any instructions for this so I don't know what is wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
