Loving my MPI-E!

Recent history of MPi-Ethernet not posting to WL.

Kauri Point WX

Page is stuck at latest update to WL.

Currently MPi-E is set up to upload only to WL; the rest of my data are handled by WeeWX.

If I select Real Time Data, its page shows the time at 60 seconds after last opening of the page. WL Bulletin is also paused at that time.

Refreshing the RTD page has no effect.

Renewing NTP in Device Setup displays RTD time (updating every few seconds). This refreshes for about 60 seconds, AND the WL Bulletin auto-updates while RTD time updates.

Then it hangs.

Using Reboot Ethernet module is identical to the NTP reset: RTD time for 60 seconds, and WL Bulletin; hang

Wojtek kindly messaged me:

If you are using WEEWX, then when WEEWX is connected via port TCP 22222 to the ETH logger, then opened connection is blocking access to the console for internal firmware.

So active connection with WeeWX is disabling MPE export settings.

Please check it. Please disable WeeWX for a moment and check if you have fresh data on first page

Paused WeeWX: WL and RTD updated normally.

SO: How to get WeeWX to pause the TCP Port 22222 connection long enough for WL to update (say, once a minute (or five minutes, etc))?

Sorted!

Brute force, but it works (any better ideas welcome!):

Cron job to restart WeeWX every 5 minutes.

Worked perfectly. Reduced interval to 3 minutes = OK

Seemed OK, tried every minute.

Failed: not enough time to publish WOW/CWOP/AWEKAS/PWS/PWSWeather/Others

2 minutes : Ditto.

Settled on 3 Minutes = So far, so good...
