I'd ideally like a extra user or two in addition to my usual victims to test the next release.

Specifically I am interested in anyone who has a Davis WeatherLink Live device and would be interested in using Cumulus MX with it.

Anyone interested, please send me your email address via a PM.

Edit: PM Mark with your email / details

For anyone with a WLL unit (or thinking of getting one) it may be worth adding what this new version of CMX will support (in addition to all the usual familiar things):

  • It provides local software able to access real-time data from the WLL unit and to process that data in all the usual familiar ways. Uploads to weatherlink.com and to any local smartphones/tablets running the WL app also continue to run as normal without any impact from CMX;
  • It will support having solar/UV sensors on a different transmitter from the ISS;
  • Up to eight temp/hum sensors are supported (subject to the usual Davis wireless channel limitations - ie the total maximum number of transmitters on a VP2 installation is eight);

Mark will correct me I'm sure if I've misrepresented anything here, but AFAIK the above is correct. But the point I'm highlighting is that the display & logging capabilities of this next CMX version are significantly greater in certain respects for a wireless VP2 system compared to Weatherlink 605, provided the data source is Weatherlink Live on a network.

Sorry, but I don't usually have time to help with individual issues by email unless you are a Prodata customer. Please post your issue in the relevant forum section here & I will comment there if I have anything useful to add.

I need some more testers for WLL, but you will need a Pro subscription to WL.com, see here...

I just ordered a WLL, will be here tomorrow.

My setup is currently using Vantage Pro2/Console/USB datalogger through Cumulus windows interface to WU and PWSWeather, and WU android apps and browser access for rapidfire reports on wind.

But WU is just too UNreliable.  So I ordered WLL.

If I understand MX, this is a SERVICE running under Windows?  I'd like to disconnect the Davis datalogger USB access so the console can be next to my favorite living room chair for a quick glance during storms and not depend on phone/browser, but still pump my data out to WU and others. But use a variety of android apps when off the home network.

MX runs in a command window that you can minimise - some people do run it as a service, but it can show some useful error information in the window if/when things go wrong.
(it also runs on Linux and MacOS)

The user interface is via your browser, so you can look at that from any device on your local network.

Once I work out a few things with support Monday I can help with testing. I have a Pro account.
