Made contact on the forum with a Flight Service Specialist at the London Airport (NavCanada) and got a chance to visit them this afternoon - something I've been wanting to do for a long time. Got a quick rundown on what and how some of it is done. Theirs is the official source for Environment Canada as well as the Weather Network, etc. and contact for pilots on weather information. As we were outside on the observation deck looking at things it just started to rain lightly so
I 
got to sent my first official METAR report at 13:27 local time. Then was able to see it immediately on sfws' Metar Decoder
