Of course, ac2ev (who has a serial logger) would also have to purchase a serial-to-usb adapter.  Not a big price addition.

For ac2ev, just to make sure it's clear.  The advantage of the Meteobridge is that your PC doesn't have to run 24/7 (because the Meteobridge is taking care of the uploads).  The disadvantage is that there's an additional cost to purchase the Meteobridge, as well as one more appliance to take care of.
