The last snow storm name
« on: March 23, 2015, 11:14:15 PM »
here in Quebec, have different names for the last snowstorm of the season dependin in what region you live in.

In my case (Lac St Jean) its the "tempete des poteau"...telephone post snowstorm....its when theres a snowstorm, usually late march when its closed to 0°c or a bit above and the wet snow is sticking /accumulating on the blowing side.

Its not arrived yet but will take some pics when here ;)

Also,in Montreal region, its called "tempete des corneilles" or crow snowstorm (hope its the right name)...Its the same snowstorm but   the crows are having fun in the relatively hot air

Here in the US, The Weather Channel has decided they were going to name winter storms.  But, to date, they're the only ones that use those names.

It would be hilarious if other media outlets started naming winter storms, all with completely different names of course. Talk about total confusion. Remember Hillary in 2016, no I remember Bob though.  #-o I thought Becky was the bad one... When I think of  TWC, Idiots is the first thing that comes to mind. Its depressing knowing they run WU now. And the downhill slide will only continue.

It's interesting that you can tell which snowstorm is going to be the last one of the season.  Where I live it has been known to snow as late as July, so there's no telling which snowstorm signals season's end! :?  Maybe naming snowstorms that might be the last one could work? :-)
