Title: WeatherLink for MacŪ: module to upload to Wunderground?
Post by: Bob in Bahia on December 05, 2006, 07:52:40 PM
Our first weather station, a Davis VP2, has been up & running 2 days.  Easy set up, no false starts or bugs.

But unable to configure Davis' Weatherlink for MacŪ v. 5.0.3 to upload data to "IBAHIACA1". my Wunderground venue:

However, the instructions on Weather Underground.........

...........don't seem to be available for this version of Weatherlink for Mac (5.0.3).

I've heard nothing from Wunderground.  Davis can't help.  Can anyone tell me how to upload FTP information from this Mac version to Wground?

Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure about the Mac setup but what might be a good idea is to send some screenshots as to where you are stuck and one of us could probably help out. Or you could try to explain what the problem is. If somebody is familiar with Mac feel free to chime in.

I think the problem is that Wunderground only released a Windows version of the WeatherLink plugin -- I've never seen a Mac-specific version.

A couple of releases of WeatherLink ago, Davis decided to remove WeatherUnderground upload features from it's product in favor of offering developers an API to build 'modules' that could plug-in the basic WeatherLink.

WeatherUnderground developed the module for the PC/Windows platform, and added Rapid-Fire support for it earlier this year.

I'd suggest you post the question at WeatherUnderground in the blogs area for the developers and see if they have plans to release a Mac-specific plugin for WeatherLink.. Davis isn't doing that kind of development as far as I can tell.

Hope this helps!
