VP2 Anemometer Vane
« on: August 07, 2021, 08:31:07 PM »
Going to modify this post and try again: I have noticed that the vane part (shows direction) of my anemometer seems to be loose, occasionally moving up and down and is doing more than just indicating direction of the wind. Sort of flops down would be way to describe it. Nothing wrong with cups.

I say "seems" since it is hard to tell standing under it and looking up 22 feet.

Questions regarding this:

1. Is this something that can happen with the vane part of the VP2? Anyone familiar with it?

2. Can a bird roosting on it, not an eagle  just a song bird, cause this? I have a king bird that has spent a lot of time using it as an ambush roost this summer. Or is it something that has just worn out/broken?

Thanks

Lots of individual parts are available. Just about any part on the anemometer can be replaced.
