I've bought a secondhand Vantage pro 2 console, the price was low due to the fact that the inside humidity, temperature and barometric readings were dashed out on it.
After reading some threads and articles about this problem I first thought it was due to wrong firmware installed.
Today I received the console, and first I checked the manufacture code, the console was produced in september 2007.
Then I checked the firmware version, it is 1.73
Seems there is no wrong firmware installed, just a (stock) version that it was shipped with.
After opening the console I did some investigation on the barometric sensor, the soldering was poor on the contacts
Some prying with a needle on the soldering joints did the trick, all readings are showing now and are pretty much the same as on my 2016 console.
Guess if it fails again I will just tap the solderpoints with a hot soldering tip to refresh the joints.
My question is can I update to the 3.xx versions or is 1.90 the best it can do?
Since I do not have a logger (sold mine earlier this year,
) I can not update te firmware now, and my guess it is not possible via the Nano SD device which I do have.
It is possible to update the firmware via a belfryboy USB logger?
The Davis brand is just a little tooooo expensive.
I already downloaded the 1.90 and 3.15 versions for the wireless pro 2 console.
