Title: Vue solar panel failure?
Post by: 4wd on May 27, 2012, 05:08:54 PM
I thought it needed a new battery earlier than expected last month, but the replacement has only lasted six weeks.
Significantly the console warning can't be made to go away through the day by going in-out of set up, so it isn't the known monitoring issue.
This makes me think the solar panel is no longer working through the day, let alone charging the capacitor.
Is this something could be swapped out by me realistically?
It's about 30 months old.

I've a VP2 needing only a thermometer-humidity sensor, for now I've ordered that part - then when the VP2 is working again I'll open the Vue up for a look-see.

Incidentally I ordered the VP2 sensor from Archer Trading.
It works out about £82 delivered to the UK but there may be tax to pay.

I only paid £23 tax on an imported VP2 last month!

most likely a problem with the super cap
(i.e it is draining all the power from the solar panel)
instead of a problem with the solar panel
