Title: UTC or local time?
Post by: Dieter on April 28, 2021, 01:13:49 AM
I ordered my first (Ecowitt) PWS.
I'll have both the console and GW1000 for upload to web servers, real-time viewing and logging of data locally on Raspberry Pi (using Weewx or Cumulus or ...).
I was wondering if I should set my time on console and Raspberry to local time or to UTC.
On one hand, local time would be nice when observing data real-time;
on the other hand, UTC wouldn't involve confusion with daylight saving time and is internationally known. Moreover, I live in Belgium, where the solar time zone (Sun at highest elevation at noon) coincidentally corresponds with UTC, which might be useful for weather observations...
Any suggestions?
