Davis Instruments Weather Stations / Re: console 6313 frozen
« Last post by Goffprof on Today at 05:19:55 PM »I recently replaced my failed 6351 console with a new 6313 for almost $400. Setup was easy, it worked for a week, then the screen froze. I called Davis tech support and waited for 30 minutes and hung up. 2 more calls, same wait, hung up. I read through the WXForum posts and tried the paper clip reset in the “P” at the rear of the console. It worked for a day and froze again. I reset it again yesterday and it is still working ok. Since Davis was acquired in 2019, things have gotten so bad even long time customers are scrapping their stations and buying $70 weather-stations that include a console from China on AliExpress. I haven’t done that yet but if the 6313 freezes again, I will order a knockoff, retire my Davis 6250/6313 pair, and try the cheap version. I don’t want to change anything but Davis is expensive and apparently uses the same imported parts and “assembles” things in the US.

, I looked inside solid plates, really no way to get another probe inside without some kind of shield modification by drilling a hole and won't being doing that since it's not mine. We'll just have to assume it's the sensor and not the shield making the difference. See what happens once we get into the warmer temps and light wind.
