Intermittent Signal Loss VP2 -Frustrations Looking for Help Plz!

I have been having a lot of issues lately with my VP2 and even Davis has not been the most resourceful help.  Was wondering if anyone here might be of assistance.

I have been getting Intermittent Signal Loss on my console. When the signal works the green light on the inside of the outdoor transmitter is green and when it is out it is not green.
It can go out for hours or days and randomly come back on line working for days to weeks. 

When contacting Davis they indicated because it is intermittent they thought it would be best to replace the outdoor transmitter which I did. 
Installed last night and was receiving data, but the wind speed said 0 and had not direction posted either.  The temp and humidity was blank.
Today I was messing with some settings and most likely don't know what if I messed it up or not, but now the console has an "L" again for loss of signal.

Console is roughly 100 ft from the transmitter

I am at a loss at this point and looking for any assistance.  It is a shame Davis cannot be of more help and use to be topnotch in customer service and I cannot get a clear answer on what to do.

Really appreciate anyones assistance at this point as I really want to put online with the WeatherLink site.

A few suggestions:

Is there another Davis weather station (VP2 or VUE) in the vicinity? Interference from another Davis set could be a cause.

Are there potential interference sources in the 900MHz ISM band? A lot of home automation and even smart power meters operate there. Ham radio?

What time of day is the signal loss? Could it be a defective supercap? Is the solar panel getting good sun exposure? Is the battery still well over 3V?

Do you have trees or other foliage in the signal path between the ISS and receiver? If so is is worse when the leaves are wet? Is the ISS antenna orientation the same as the console? (both vertical or both horizontal)
