I didn't mean to offend ....
but we get so many questions where the text shows that obviously the basic thread wasn't read as many answers can be found there ...
we created this thread not to have to answer the same questions for the umpteenth time ...
So it seems that this console of yours is somehow not very cooperative.
If the WiFi symbol on the console screen is blinking but no access point with the SSID EasyWeather-WIFIxxxx is visible for either an iPhone or Android phone, then the console is very likely to be defective for the WiFi portion.
The potential 5 GHz "competition" (when using the same SSID for the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks) during the pairing etc. only comes into play once the app has connected to the console WLAN (EasyEather-WIFIxxxx SSID). But this doesn't seem to be the case here.
As for the OP, this shouldn't be an issue as he (she?) says he's using it to read the (W65/WS69 ?) outdoor sensor data in parallel to his HP25x0 console. Being connected to the network is only interesting for posting data. The reception of RF data from the sensor array should not be affected
And if the WiFi symbol doesn't start blinking in the first place ...
The only thing that comes to my mind is that for the WH2910 console (the Ventus W830 is a clone model) there seem to be contradictory instructions (as you already mentioned). In the WH290 manual it says you have to press the WIND and PRESSURE buttons for 5 seconds and in the W830 manual it says RAIN and ALARM
. Maybe trying WIND and PRESSURE would make the WLAN access point appear ....
I suggest you try both versions.
WH2910
"Power your console with the included AC adapter and ensure it is in
Wi-Fi configuration mode (Wi-Fi icon and M-B flashing). If it is not,
follow the procedure to put it in that mode (hold down WIND +
PRESSURE buttons for about 5 seconds)."
W830
"(1) If the WiFi icon is not flashing rapidly, (1) press and hold the
RAIN and ALARM buttons at the same time for four seconds. (2) The WiFi icon will
begin flashing rapidly, indicating the console is searching for your WiFi network."
Also you have to make sure that the console has BOTH batteries inserted AND is connectef to a plugged-in power supply. If running on batteries only, the WIFi will be switched off.
If neither approach makes the WLAN AP appear, the WiFi component of the console is likely to be defective.
