Setting Wind Chill & Heat Index Parameters

(1/1)

blizzardof78:
I'm sure I've seen it in the settings somewhere, but I'd like to know where I need to go to set what the temperature needs to be for wind chill to be displayed where I've placed the white arrow, as well as what the temperature needs to hit to display the heat index. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!

Vasco:
Control Panel > Units & Other Settings > Units/Wind Chill

Have a look at Temperature Setup tab, too.

I'm sorry, but I do not know if you can set WD to show Heat Index instead of Wind Chill at a certain Temperature. I show Wind Chill and Apparent Temp - no Wet Bulb.

I think you can get an LED for some sort of Heat Index, but we don't need it in Scotland  :-)

Got it, thanks. I had also written to Brian. Seems as if you can not adjust when you want wind chill or heat index / apparent temperature calculated. Just curious. Thanks for the reply. Scotland huh? No heat index there? I'll be glad to send you some of our mid 90s next week!

Thanks

BTW, wind chill should not be used above 10°C (50°F) - there's a setting for that in WD - and I think heat index is only valid above 27°C (80°F).

Safer to use apparent

EDIT: LED is for Modified Discomfort Index - see https://discourse.weather-watch.com/t/turning-off-mdi-led/25992
