Looking to change from Davis to Ecowitt

(1/3) > >>

Billyram:
My Davis console is dying and I have issues with the anemometer wind vane. I've been running the wyfy2logger and don't like the new Davis console. I'm looking at the Ecowitt HP2560-C7 TFT console along with their WS80 ultrasonic sensor and WH40 rainfall sensor. I will be sending data to WU and CWOP. Also I would like to set up a data logger. Any suggestions?

You can find some very useful information here:

R.Sidetrack:
CumulusMX is very easy to use with Ecowitt systems to capture data.

Keep in mind that the WS80 has computer chips, and periodically gets firmware updates. :)

Updates are done by USB cable, which may not be convenient if your WS80 is up high. :) See this thread: https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=48383.0

My solution is to stick with a traditional WS68 (with rotating cups) that has no firmware.

CamarilloWX:
Have you considered having Davis refurbish the station?  It used to be $200 and they go through the whole station including the console.
