Rafael
« on: November 04, 2024, 03:19:54 PM »
From recent Hurricane Hunter missions[1], Tropical Storm Force winds were found within PTC 18 (Rafael), and it may be a rare U.S. Landfalling hurricane, the first time since 2022.

Very little storms ever make a November US Landfall.

Some of the first Tropical Storm Watches have been issued for the Florida Keys, as some of the outer bands may impact the area. We are unsure if this hurricane will turn major, Category 1 is the forecast.

Some other forecast models predict that this storm could reach Category 2 or even Category 3, but I am staying careful with my belief's. Thoughts?

Rafael is forecast to become a major hurricane.[1][2]

If Hurricane Rafael hits Category 3 intensity, this will make it the 5th Major Hurricane of the Atlantic season.
The 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season's ACE count currently stands at 149.4.[3]

The 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season has had 11 hurricanes so far, making this season tied 4th with several other hurricane seasons for the most hurricanes to occur in one season.[4][5]
