I would be finding a new location for your Ultrasonic anemometer, with flag is obviously unsuitable, without flag would still probably have too much movement?

If the flag in your photo is mounted to the Tele-Pole, I suggest that you find an alternative location for the flag, otherwise  you may be in a similar situation again in a couple of years.

As I indicated, the mount was installed with drainage in mind.

I contacted the manufacturer's Service First customer service, they were extremely helpful. The pole and optional mount are 2-1/2 years old, and have a 1 year warranty. They are replacing the $80 mount for $20 (including S&H) and since the pole has some lean, they will replace the $300 pole for $75 (including S&H). So I am going to replacing the pole also.

I figured it was worth it since my Davis ultrasonic anemometer is mounted on the top.

I think that Mattk's point was that it looks like the water may have rusted the pole mount from the inside.

A 30ft pole obviously is shipped in sections, and probably assembled with one part nested in the the adjoining section. That may be where water is getting into the interior of the pole, then rusting the base.

I'd see if I could find a local welder to repair that joint. And at the same time drill a hole in the  bottom of the plate so future  accumulated water can drain out.

Sometimes is the little things that we least expect that cause problems. Often disregarding them as not significant.... until proven otherwise.

I do have the base raised with washers for drainage.

I do have a wind situation at my location, not super high speed 30 MPH common, but ongoing forever.

That one appears to have rusted from the inside? Could water get in, could water get out?

Hello,

My fairly decent $300 30' Flagpole from Amazon couldn't take any more of my winds. So I'm looking for a new pole.

Has anyone had experience with Tele-Pole in the last couple years, latest post I find is Jan 2022.

Wondering if they are still one of the better choices.

Thanks,
Dennis
