I'll be a bit slow to respond to any questions about the script for a week or so around Christmas, will have a lot of guests so won't have much time on the computer.  I'll be back answering around the 27th!

Happy Holiday and Merry Christmas to everyone.

Scott

same to you and the others!

Can someone maybe answer my questions. I have upgraded from version 5.
3. Rec* High and Low have wrong temps and dates (I have data since late 2006)
4. Station All Time Highs show 01/01/1970    0.0°C 01/01/1970
Many Thanks

just want to throw me on this. Have the same problem with the date.
I do not have two years of data so I thought that was what was wrong when it comes to Rec * High and Low.

If you don't have two years of data Brian already said that it would not work.  I'm not sure what it does exactly if you don't though!

Can someone maybe answer my questions. I have upgraded from version 5.

1. I have no heat index data on my webpage (used to before upgrade)

2. Fire icon appears for about 2 seconds then disappears.

3. Rec* High and Low have wrong temps and dates (I have data since late 2006)

4. Station All Time Highs show 01/01/1970    0.0°C 01/01/1970

Many Thanks

Can you send me a link to the page so I can look at it.  If you had version 5 running the only changes needed are the new config file and some additional testtags (and the new java script)

If it's changing the testtags.txt file in that directory there is a serious problem.  The only version of testtags that should change is the .php version that is created from the testtags.txt.  Has this ever worked before (is this a new install I mean)?  Also is the date format always 72/22???

Scott
Scott,

I've always had a problem trying to change the c:/wdisplay/webfiles/testtags.txt file (I had the same problem as ed2kayak). Apparently, at least on my system, WD has that file open, and, therefore, any changes made to it are lost. I have found a 'fix' by editing the c:/wdisplay/testtags.txt file instead. After a few minutes this file is moved into /webfiles/ and all is intact and well.

FWIW...

What version of Windows may I ask?

From what I understand, yes you would need to have 2 years of data.  You would have to ask Brian to clarify that but that was the last I read. I have an option in there to use Weather Underground records if you don't have enough data of your own yet if that helps!

Scott,
On the row 2 panel,  the 3rd column (wind) has an underscore before the am/pm.

Max Gust:    30.0@  11:42_AM

Is it possible to remove (_) to make consistent with the other time statements.
Thanks

The problem is, that is how the reading is stored in the testtags.  I can see if I can create a function to change that but the better way would be for Brian to correct the tag to make it standard.

I just took a look at that Scott because I was wondering also.
It uses clientraw line 135 which doesn't show an underscore if I'm reading it right.

Actually, they are wrong in clientraw.txt, here is an excerpt from mine:

6:10PM 12:16_AM

I'll see what it will take to get a function to fix it as I doubt it will ever be fixed in WD.

I was able to fix it in the dashboard but not the ajax update yet.  My java skills are not that good yet!

I think he is doing some fixing up.  Look at the raw file in a text editor (notepad.exe) and you'll see the underscores there.

Could it be something with the ajaxWDwx.js file Scott?

On my old dashboard which uses the 4.10 version of your dashboard
and does not use Meekrat's .js file it's ok.

It is the java script but only because it uses the raw reading from clientraw.txt.

Right now, I have not been able to figure out a way to make that reading convert.  There are a couple areas that the conversion just doesn't work. When I find a fix I'll add it in for sure.

Hi Scott,

CSS is improving slowly http://www.mad-weather.com/ajax6.php the one thing I seem to have missed is how to keep the UV image showing, it shows briefly when you press F5, but it's not there all the time.

I also had the all time station record showing 1/1/1970 but on your high lows trend script it was showing the correct date so I changed

<?php echo create_datemdy($recordhightempmonth,$recordhightempday,$recordhightempyear)?>

to

<?php
                      if ($WDdateMDY)
                          echo fixup_date($recordhightempmonth . "/" . $recordhightempday . "/" . $recordhightempyear);
                      else
                          echo fixup_date($recordhightempday . "/" . $recordhightempmonth . "/" . $recordhightempyear);
                   ?>

and that now works. Interesting to note that it was only the high temperature that was affected and not the low or warmest coldest days and nights.

Hey!
updated my plaintext parser. Got a line  extra  in the Short Term Weather Forecast.
It looks a little messed up, is it a way to fix this?

If it disappears right away it's the ajax java script that is updating it.  You have something set wrong in that.  What does it show?

Hey!

Did not change anything. Updated just plain text parser and plain text data.txt.
Got a new line that shows the 'cold'
It is possible this must be fixed in plain text.  It looked a bit messed up in wxsimforecast too.
Perhaps Ken working on it?
