Title: PDX WX Station

Here's my set-up.  Feel free to give me some feed back on how to make it better.  This is my first attempt and I have limited access to tools so I did my best with what I have (had).

Thanks.

Dreamflight767, looks like your pole mount is off vertical.
From the manual.
Quote
Make sure the sensor array is completely level upon final installation.
Failure to do so will result in inaccurate rain gauge readings.

Is there maybe a way to eliminate the offset piece on the house mount and mount the pole directly to the mount? Yes, it does bring the ISS closer to the house and pickup roof heat, but it will provide a more vertical mount.
Urban living comes with it challenges.  :-(

Thanks dupreezd.  Believe it or not, the actual unit itself is level...I went to great measures to make sure.

I'm thinking come spring time, I'm going to take some of your advice and remount using EMT.  My problem is finding a piece pre-cut 4 or 5 feet long.  All the "box" stores sell 10' and I don't have the tools to drill the holes to attach to the included mounting pole and cut to the 4 or 5 foot length.  I'll use winter time to address those logistics.

Cheers!

Picture certainly makes it look crooked. But if you say it's level then it must be level?

LOWES Has the Pre-cut Lengths and Diameter that you need. I don't think your WS Sensor is vertical, look at the tree and Windowpane...............

It appears that you have trees taller than your station. So keep in mind that you have to mount your station in such a way that you can easily inspect and clean the rain bucket for leaves and other obstructions.

Thanks crew.  It does appear a little bit titled to the south more then I thought; I'll have to adjust.

I swung by lowes yesterday and they only had 10' sections of EMT.  Maybe I'll have to ask if they cut or have shorter lengths.

Thanks for the tip about the leaves.  But the photo is zoomed in x4 so that tree in the back is a good 30 yards away.

Looks like if you flop the mount upside down to the current setup you will get more adjustment room to make it level...

Thanks everyone.  I'm going to make some revisions based on your feedback.  I'll posted updated pictures in a few weeks with the WX settles down.
