RaspPi LUCI/Openwrt Login?
« on: March 07, 2021, 11:32:11 AM »
I've tried the default combos and nothing seems to work - root/(blank), root/root, meteobridge/meteobridge, etc.

Anyone know what it is?

That happened to me too recently when I switched to the RPI version of Meteobridge. I'm not certain what I did that finally caused to to let me log in. The only thing I can think probably did it was to change the default password.

Try going to the Meteobridge menu System / Administration and then set a new HTTP password. I think keeping the default password is the problem.

I never took care of this. Thinking about it one can also see it as a feature ;-)

I know, that is not what you wanted to hear. However, as you have shell access you can come around this for sure some way by setting the luci password manually. If you find I way, please let me know.

I agree, it keeps the untrained individuals out to not have access to Luci. There really isn't a need to change anything under Luci.  Everything you should need to change is available under the Meteobridge menus.

If it really came down to some advanced stuff you have more power under SSH.

Not necessarily to make changes, but you get a much more comfortable view of the configuration, the logs etc. which is otherwise quite tedious to put together from the CLI. And, every now and then, that's information you need to have. A read-only access from the Luci interface would be an option.

I've tried the default combos and nothing seems to work - root/(blank), root/root, meteobridge/meteobridge, etc.

Anyone know what it is?

This is a know problem and there is an easy workaround. See this post on the meteobridge forum for how-to info:

https://forum.meteohub.de/viewtopic.php?p=37638#p37638

Bottom line is you've got to logon to the meteobridge interface with the root account/credentials. If you logon with the meteobridge account/credentials you'll never be able to access the LuCi/Openwrt interface.

What you say is true for a Meteobridge Pro, but it never worked for me with the Raspberry Pi.
Whichever browser, cache, even going deep into the Luci configuration via SSH ... - at no avail.

And, now, with build 2200, the OpenWRT option has even been (intentionally - unintentionally ??) removed from the Browser interface.

True it is removed but you can still get to LuCI using this URL:

true, that link still works - but to log on to Luci some special trick seems to be needed (on my RPi only ?).
The "simple" approaches from the above thread don't work.
Even the more complex ones going through all the layers involved ...
(there are quite a few solutions shown in the web - but also some "resistant" situations)
Maybe I will try a new, clean install once my backup XI SD card is available in June...

Yeah there seems to be a few things broken. The backup script does not work by default either.

Luci is there for a reason obviously, I think it should be fixed. The pi isnt going anywhere, and why put the effort in to porting it if you don't fix the bugs?

Well I guess it's easier to call it fixed by deleting the button.

I'm running meteobridge  (latest version with the Expert Mode button removed) on a RPI 3B and the luci interface is still accessible via the URL as long as I've logged into the meteobridge interface with the root account.  [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
