Title: Hurricane headed straight for me.
Post by: distortionist on September 20, 2020, 09:25:57 AM
Hello guys, I still don't have my weather station, it is in delivery so I am going to miss the storm but I do have a GW-1000 running and the atmospheric pressure is rising, it has been rising for 24h! What does this mean? Everything I read says if the storm is coming it should be dropping because its sucking the wind away.

Can someone please help me understand the rise? Maybe we are still too far away, it is expected to hit here on Tuesday.

I don't know what is up with attachments but I am not sure it is working so on Sept 19 10:45AM the pressure was 1007.1 hPa, it is currently at 1018.1 and seems to still be climbing.

Have a look at a surface map. The hurricane is about 1000 miles / 1600km to your south. Meanwhile there is high pressure centered over Quebec that is having way more effect on your current conditions than Teddy.
