Ecowitt release new firmware 1.7.1 for the HP2551 console (also Froggit HP1000SE Pro, Misol/PanTech HP2550, Watson 8686, ELV WeatherScreen Pro, Steinberg SBS-WS-500 etc.)

Firmware update for HP2551/HP2553 - V1.7.1

Main Updates for V1.7.1:

1.Add snowflake icon for the weather forecast function

2.Support max 8 WN35 leaf wetness sensor

3.Support to scroll displaying the PM2.5 sensors data on the main interface

I'm happy that the WH41/43 PM2.5 sensors are now also scrolling - had requested that earlier (checked it and works !)

Let's see when and if they will also include the WH45 indoor temperature and humidity sensors into the temperature scrolling of WH32B and WH31 ...
(that was also a recent development request)

Darn.   I procrastinated too long.   Didn't think a firmware update would be this soon.    I was going to ask if they could add an alarm function for the lightning sensor.

Ecowitt are open to suggestions in general. Describe your suggestion in their forum @ecowitt.com.
They have a special category for product feature suggestions

Hi!

I have been using the new firmware version v1.7.1 for a few days and have not noticed anything unusual so far.
Only the order of my soil moisture sensors has changed - probably due to the automatic restart after the update - so you should definitely look again after an update.

Attention!
With the HP2551C, too, the last known lightning is deleted when it is restarted!
I had asked Lucy to change the behavior (they should just save the last lightning in the NVRAM) but either she didn't understand my suggestion or they don't want/will do that for other reasons:

"It could not display on the main interface of the console."

Hi everyone, you can let me know if I can install the FW V1.7.1 by MicroSD on my "Froggit HP1000SE-Pro" device, because the latest firmware update via OTA, using WS-view software is  Pro_v1.6.9 - EasyWeatherv1.5.9, thanks.

No problem at all - the HP1000SE Pro is just a labeled HP2551C. So it uses the same firmware. You also should check with WS View app whether there's a new WIFI-firmware available.

only the WiFi firmware will be offered via WSView app
the device firmware will need to be downloaded from the ecowitt.com site at the HP2551 console page
