Yes, sadly, that's the name-grabber's survey page posted with lots of attractant titles and links.

The page serves only to count queries so they can estimate what price they should charge to ransom the domain for..

Please don't even give them a visit.  They wanted $5000 for it the last time I asked.  Maybe if Gary can do an appeal via the internic process, he'll be able to regain it (due to a failed registrar which was not his fault).

Yes, agree with Ken. Don't click on it or even visit that site again. They are probably tallying up the number of hits the site receives just to jack the price up further. I hope the new owner rots.

Ken, what is the chance of getting any of the old data back?

Fairly good.. Gary said he'd taken a SQL backup of the forum database just a couple of days before armeggedon and that he has it on an external hard drive.  All that should be in Round Rock, TX now as Gary digs out from moving his household and family from Virginia.  We're hoping to get access to that backup so we can try reload a lot of the forum postings -- there was a bunch of great stuff there!

BTW.. he does seem to have a (maybe coincidental) thing for 'Round'.. moved from "Round Hill, VA" to "Round Rock, TX" :-) )

Between moving and the new job, Gary hasn't had a lot of time to do much besides the necessities of life.  He does have a starter website of his own at http://www.wilcowx.com/ but hasn't had time to put up his station yet.

You'll note that there are two entries for Gary on the site.. the one he signed up as 'garytx' and the renamed admin account GaryTX.  We hope he can scrape a bit of time together to give us a posting on the forum.

Best regards,
Ken
