Meteobridge problems receiving data **solved**
« on: August 18, 2019, 10:53:43 AM »
I have been having problems with my meteobridge receiving data from my Davis Vantage Pro2 console lately (or my console receiving from the ISS).

In the live data section, I’ve noticed that it has been consistently taking one minute to receive data from my sensors. As a consequence, I’ve noticed that pages such as Weather Underground are taking up to a minute or two to receive my data instead of every 5 seconds. (not that noticeable on my pages that upload every 5 minutes).

My WeatherLink ISS Reception has been going down to basically nothing at random times of the day

Console Diagnostics doesn’t seem to be bad, though I don’t know much about CRC errors or total misses

My internet speed test is great, although I’ve been having issues with it slowing down to nothing at random times of the day. I am just not sure if this is a problem with my console and ISS connection (which it shouldn’t because it has been great since I got it until now), or my meteobridge. I’m sure the wifi dropping is not helping either, but even when it isn’t I am still having this problem.

Hi there.

I was misled by the subject title somewhat as it looks like the issue is with the Davis ISS transmitting or the Davis Console receiving since the dropouts may case the time lag.  when was the last time you done any maintenance on the ISS or changed the battery and cleaned the solar panel?

Radio interference perhaps?

Have you tried using another transmission channel than the default?

It has been a few months since I cleaned the solar panel. I have never changed the battery (had it for almost 1.5 years now). I just cleaned the ISS including the solar panel and radiation shield. I also replaced the battery though I haven't received any low battery indicators. So far it is still taking a minute or so for the data to come into meteobridge. My console is updating normally, on the other hand, so the console is getting the data without any problems. Meteobridge just isn't uploading properly.

Have you tried rebooting meteobridge?

I rebooted the meteobridge several times, still not uploading properly.

Appears the title is a little misleading? How is this configured? How is the MB connected? If the MB is relying on the console and the console is having problems reading the ISS then of course the MB is going to be a secondary casualty

I have my console attached to the Ambient WeatherBridge which is connected to my WiFi network (obviously ethernet would be preferred at some point). My console is receiving from my ISS just fine, but it is taking my meteobridge a lot longer to get and upload the data to my various pages.

I assume you have an USB-logger, correct?
Did you install the USB hub between the console+logger and the Weatherbridge?
That hub is needed with almost all meteobridges to convert the USB-1 of the logger to USB-2 of the weatherbridge.

Yes, I do have the USB-logger which is connected to the USB hub plugged into the Weatherbridge.

Is there anything funky in the Meteobridge System tab Messages?

Nothing looks out of the ordinary. I reset the WeatherBridge earlier this morning to see if that would help, no luck.

I have been getting this error with Weather Underground today, but sounds more like a Weather Underground problem

I figured out my problem. When I started using WeatherLink on Bootcamp, I forgot to stop uploading to CWOP and Weather Underground. Shutting that off has fixed my Meteobridge uploading problems.
