As long as you can keep the chart data and setup files backed up separately and they both get the weather data from the same source, they run completely independent.

Hi all,

Inspired by rosegeek's comment earlier in this thread, I have tried using the Puffin browser on Nvidia Shield. It works flawlessly, as shown below:

Thanks Brian for this amazing standalone version of the Weather34 template!

Which browsers would you guys recommend for full-screen viewing on (1) Android tablets, and (2) iPads?

Thanks,

hello teething issues my end my macbook laptop for some reason is creating some errors when zipping files and due to the “stay at home” our internet is pretty dyer at times in the daytime which also causes some failed uploads to the download site. unfortunately i allocated my mac desktop to my wife as she is working from home and has a difficult time working on a laptop for long periods so my apologies I will try and fathom it out soon as i can.

ps im 22 days without setting a few outside the door can tell you its not healthy , body aches, muscles are tight and stiff due to lack of exercise ,the lack of good fresh air makes your thinking tiring .. adapting to stay at home is difficult but necessary..brian

Hi Brian

There seems to be a problem with the Purple Air data after the latest update - it seems like it misses some data

hello there has been No changes or updates to that version in respect of purple air you use which is not this the standalone version. certainly no changes in terms of how purple air is collected and stored in either version . perhaps purple air api data was unreachable at those times it recorded no data with api off site data this intermittently happens at times . i see its now recording chart data again with no changes .

hello yes but template will on display previous year chart data and current year, montth, day so you would only see at present 2020-2019 next year you would see 2021-2020 . please note this is not a replacement which adds an array of data this version is just a simple standalone version based on current realtime data with a few additions definitely not an analysis tool .i would stick with what you have now or perhaps research on other templates that offer a vast array of statistics.

if you send me your 2019.csv and current 2020.csv i can simply run a small automator script i have on my computer that converts that structure to current. note its a mac automator script that simply converts the csv not a website script hence send me the two files and its not a distributable app.

exactly what happens when periodically api returns no data .. no need to send any files there is nothing to fix as nothing has changed in terms of purple air. remember the chart data only reads what is stored /sent from your hardware or api .

Is there a configurable parameter on the rainfall.php to show the feature that Davis calls "Rain Storm?"

Per the manual and on the Davis Consoles..
Rain Storm displays the rain total of the last rain event. It takes two tips of the rain bucket to begin a storm event and 24 hours without rain to end a storm event.Press RAINDAY to toggle between the daily rain total and the Rain Storm total. Rain accumulation may be displayed as either millimeters (mm) or inches (in).

unfortunately no we would need to having a working string added to the api output which is at firmware level on the meteobridge so its not possible for the end user to add into the api output  . other question is there a string available in meteobridge to replicate this if so it can be added in the future .

Hi Dave. It was extremely simple: after downloading the Puffin browser from the Google Play Store (on Nvidia Shield), I launched the Puffin app, entered the web address of my weather station (specifically, https://my-weather.eu/lakatamia-cy/index.php), and Puffin (by default) displayed the website in true full-screen mode. Subsequently, I used the Nvidia Shield remote control to move the cursor to the bottom right of the screen, and I pressed the "TV" circle at the bottom right of the Weather34 console. This made the console expand a bit and completely fill my TV screen.
