Getting 2.5 sensor to display on dashboard and apps
« on: December 24, 2019, 12:27:15 PM »
My new PM 2.5 sensor is reporting to my WS2000. How does one get it to send data to WU and Ambient dashboard apps.
Is there a step by step guide to do this.
I upgraded the firm ware on the console.
Also suggestions on mounting sensor on outside wall?

WeatherUnderground (WU) does not yet take the PM2.5 data from the console so you cannot see it reported there.
I would expect the Ambient site however to pick up the data if its being shown on the WS2000 console.
Perhaps they have not yet updated Ambientweather.net to show this data?

Unfortunately I don't have an Ambient version of the WS2000 so I cannot tell if this is the case.

Someone did a Amazon review on it and said
"This PM2.5 was extremely easy to add to my WS2000. We have a local DEQ/EPA air quality station in Bend, and my PM2.5 data is consistent with what the DEQ station is measuring. The best part about this excellent WS2000 weather station is the super cool customer service offered by Ambient Weather. Ed and their staff are very quick to address the questions I might have. The USFS and BLM periodically have controlled fires to burn forest debris and the PM2.5 alarms when the smoke is harmful for outdoor activities. Check out the attached screen captures."

This included images of the PM 2.5 data on the Ambient site.

I wonder which sensors that Wundermap is getting the PM 2.5 data from. As there is a PM 2.5 and a PM 10 filter, which brings back a few data points showing up. It would defiantly make sense for Wundermap to allowed the Ambient PM 2.5 sensor to submit data to it, especially if the data already shows up on Ambient's site (It should show up on Ambient, other wise I can't see why one would buy/add the PM 2.5 sensor if you got no stored/online data from it). I wonder if they'll allow back logs of the data, if they decided to allow it to go though on Wundermap. And I wonder how many people own Ambient PM 2.5 sensors. I never realized that Ambient PM 2.5 (and probably PM 10) don't show on Wundermap. I'm not sure as to what date or month the PM 2.5 sensor was released.

The Fine Offset WH41 Air Quality Sensor has been around since March 2019 and in use by Ecowitt HP2551 and GW1000 based systems.
Its only more recently that Ambient badged systems have supported the AQ sensor.
I have the Ecowitt system and upload to Wunderground and it has never taken the AQM data
