« on: July 11, 2021, 04:48:41 PM »
Finally completed the installation of an Ecowitt / Ambient weather station. All components are Ecowitt with the exception of the WS80.

Components:

WS80 Ultrasonic anemometer
WS40 Tipping Rain Gauge
WH32 EP Temp/Humidity mounted in Barina Meteoshield Pro
GW1000
HP2551 Display Console
Stratus Precision Rain Gauge

Nice looking setup. Though my feedback is that it is important to ensure that the radiation shield has ample clearance for air circulation all around and it looks to be obstructed.

Thanks for the input Galfert. I assume you meant it should mounted a little higher as to fully clear the post. I considered that but wanted to keep it comfortably below the rims of the rain gauges. Probably over thinking  that. Easy enough to raise it up so it clears the post. Thanks again!

Yes what I would do is raise it but also insert another block of wood to extend the radiation shield mount just a bit further out. So up and out a bit. Either that or another option would be to get a second post for the Stratus gauge as the space seems a bit crowded for all three.

Wood being that close will definitely heat up the thermometer.

Galfert, DoctorKnow,

Thanks for the suggestions. I finally had time to make some adjustments. As suggest I added an additional block and moved the radiation shield a little further away from the post and also raised it up some. Probably still not the optimal setup but better. For my yard and needs it will have to do. Thanks again.
