As you can see, the performance of the Weatherflow brand Tempest station is really excellent. The graphics are really good, performance in my opinion very, very good. I would say that these graphs already delineate very precisely the performance of the station, all that remains is to see the performance of the haptic rain sensor. After all, I'm really really satisfied !!

I always remember that you can use, for those interested in buying, the COMPARETTOIVAN discount code that allows you to get a 10% discount on your purchase. Better than this!!

Graphs of 11-8-2021, a very interesting day as from the afternoon the difference has decreased significantly and this is very well noticeable in the graphs from about 13-14 onwards (the lack of storm data was due to an internet problem ):

- TEMPERATURE OF THE BARANI PRO - TEMPEST TEMPERATURE (similar performance with the lowering of the decrease):

- DIFFERENCE OF THE TEMPEST COMPARED TO THE BARANI PRO (shaking as you can see in the graph is reduced):

- MEDIUM WIND ECOWITT WS80 AND TEMPEST (strange the peak of the ws80):

- TEMPEST BURST AND ECOWITT WS80:

- TEMPEST RADIATION AND ECOWITT WS80:

- HUMIDITY OF THE BARANI PRO - TEMPEST TEMPERATURE:

Definitely surprises me that the shield apparently works so well. Would not have expected that looking at it. Would you say that it appears that the sensor in the Barani shield seems slightly more responsive?

What happens if any part should ever break down? Are there replacement parts?

Perhaps a little more reactive is the barani, but not much. This also affects the probe inside, which is not really very small. The other comparisons that have been made previously gave different results, but in that case the probes used were PT100 probes which have even smaller dimensions!!

The probe I use is this:

While the PT100 is this or such probes:

The size and performance also vary greatly

For the spare parts I can't tell you: at the moment on sale as spare parts there are only the hub to fix the station to the pole (https://shop.weatherflow.com/collections/accessories/products/pole-mount-replacement?ref = IvanComparetto) and the spare power supply for the hub (https://shop.weatherflow.com/collections/accessories/products/power-supply?ref=IvanComparetto).

I'll find out more about it this afternoon.

I inquired about spare parts:

We don't sell spare parts for the Tempest at this time, so usually if something fails we replace the whole unit.

The replacement of the station can take place in the following ways:

The money back guarantee, where you can return your station for a refund, is 60 days. There are another a 2-year warranty and 10-year limited warranty: (applied automatically with every purchase)

- Two (2) Year Warranty - If the Device is or becomes inoperative as a result of a manufacturing defect within two (2) years from the date of purchase, we will replace it with a comparable replacement product at no cost. This includes Device failure due to defect but does not include failure due to misuse in unintended ways, abuse such as dropping the Device, natural causes including lightning strike, or unnatural causes such as vandalism.

- Ten (10) Year Limited Warranty - If a Device is or becomes inoperative as a result of a manufacturing defect outside of the Two Year Warranty period but less than ten (10) years from the date of purchase, WeatherFlow offers a 60% discount off manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) on a replacement Device.

Hello everybody. I update by communicating the possibility of connecting the Tempest station to the WeatherWizz dashboard. It in a single screen allows you to see most of the values detected by the station (not all) but I believe that as they are implemented, perhaps to see them you need a small monthly donation to support the site. It could be a valid alternative to view data on a tablet (it was born for this purpose).

To connect the station just press the "connect weather station" button, press "setup tempest", press the "connect weather station" button and at this point you will be redirected to the site of the tempest station, just enter the site and the station is all ' interface.

Here is the link of the site: https://www.weatherwizz.com/ and this is the link where you find my station connected: https://www.weatherwizz.com/ew0001dt/?station=XIEVUHQWIV

p.s. there is still something to fix but it works !!

I update by communicating that a tailor-made dashboard has been created for the Tempest station. In it, all the values detected / calculated by the station can be displayed. In order to take advantage of this dashboard, you must support WeatherWizz on patreon, with a monthly payment of € 3.50 + VAT.

Also added in the dashboard the voltage of the station, so that you can have a detailed picture of the station.

If you have any suggestions or ideas to give, go ahead, I am available, I will also reply to MP if you want !!

This is the "updated" dashboard:

2. GATEWAY GW1003 (ws80/wh40/wh32-ep in barani standard)
3. GATEWAY WH2650 (3rd station)(1 WH32-EP METAL, 1 WH40)

This Patreon membership for weatherwizz.com is normally ONLY necessary, when you want to rename your sensors.
All other "templates" are free.
Except for the Tempest station (direct connect).

For all Stations with Ecowitt, Ambient, WU protocol using the custom server function or connecting to weatherwizz.com via Meteobridge, weewx, Weather Display, CumulusMX the templates are free and even a Tempest connecting via MB, weewx, WD doesn't need to use the special Tempest template.

Anyhow, at least outside the U.S. and Canada, the Tempest isn't sold (yet) ...
Except for some people who took part in a Crowd-Funding activity for the Tempest station, no one in Europe probably has it - it would anyhow be unlawful to operate the U.S. version transmitting at 915 MHz.

Perfect what you said. But I don't know if connecting the Tempest station with MB, weewx, WD, the values such as DELTA T, air density and other similar values, which most of the entry level do not detect, without supporting Patreon, are displayed in a dashboard, I think not, at most the main values are displayed such as temperature, humidity, pressure, dew point, lightning and rain and a few others that escape me at the moment.

On the question of frequency I don't know how to answer you, they sent the tempest station to me in Europe, and they did it to someone else too, but I don't think it is at 915mHz, maybe they have found a system that allows them to create only one type with frequency interchangeable or have 3 types with different frequency. I do not know.

Goodmorning everyone.  Yesterday morning some very small shower of rain in the stations of Alia.

Rain which led to an accumulation of 0.3mm for the TEMPEST station (rain duration 33 minutes) while 0.1mm for the ecowitt WH40 sensor.  We will wait for better days to draw conclusions !!

So these are the graphs:

As can be seen from this screen accumulated 0.3mm:

As you can see from the HISTORY page, 0.3mm and 33 minutes in duration

This is the graph with the accumulation and intensity in detail:

While the PT100 is this or such probes:

This is slightly off topic, but I've been looking at a PT100 for testing. Do you have a link to the exact probe you've been using? A lot of the options seem to be designed for very high temperature environments.

I update the post by communicating an update made to the WeatherWizz dashboard. A new feature has been implemented that allows you to view on the dashboard itself as well as the battery voltage also the mode in which the station works.

Let me explain better, if the station is below certain voltage values, some parameters will not be detected to help recharge the battery, as illustrated below:

- Mode 0: voltage ≥ 2.455
• All sensors are enabled and operating at peak performance

- Mode 1: voltage ≤ 2.415 from mode 0 or ≥ 2.41 from mode 2
• Wind sampling interval set to 6 seconds

- Mode 2: voltage ≤ 2.39 from mode 1 or ≥ 2.375 from mode 3
• Wind sampling interval set to one minute

- Mode 3: voltage ≤ 2.355
• Wind sampling set to 5 minutes
• The sampling interval of all other sensors is set to 5 minutes
• Lightning sensor disabled
• Rain touch sensor disabled

Then in the dashboard now next to the battery voltage value, also check the mode in which the station is working and if in the case of mode 3 the values that are not detected are colored red, therefore very practical to view.

Charts for today, 26-8-2021, very similar to those of yesterday:

- TEMPERATURE OF THE BARANI PRO - TEMPEST TEMPERATURE:

- TEMPEST DIFFERENCE COMPARED TO THE BARANI PRO (not very large deviations, maximum -0.6 ° C):

- MEDIUM WIND ECOWITT WS80 AND TEMPEST:

- TEMPEST BURST AND ECOWITT WS80:

- TEMPEST RADIATION AND ECOWITT WS80 (today very fluctuating radiation due to the cloudiness that developed, but which did not lead to any precipitating phenomenon. In those moments when the radiation was very low, the temperature correction was certainly not active, as it is activated when the radiation is high enough Looking at the temperature graphs you do not notice excessive deviations / variations in temperature but everything is very stable throughout the day.

- HUMIDITY OF THE BARANI PRO - HUMIDITY TEMPEST:

- TODAY LIGHTNING (TOTAL) AND GRAPHIC (also added the lightning graph as a storm passed very close to me but did not bring precipitation in my area, as you can see the total lightning strikes are 381 and from the graph you can clearly see the moment in which began to drift away:

1. Froggit HP1000SE PRO;
2. GATEWAY GW1003 (ws80/wh40/wh32-ep in barani standard)
3. GATEWAY WH2650 (3rd station)(1 WH32-EP METAL, 1 WH40)
6. LIGHTING SENSOR;
7. OTHERS WH31 NORMAL and 1 WH31-EP
8. RAIN SENSOR;
9. WEBCAM HP10 (beta test)
10. LOW COST STATION (WN1900).

Graphs today, 27-8-2021:

- TEMPERATURE OF THE BARANI PRO - TEMPERATURE TEMPEST and new entry the ws80 (I added it to understand how it behaves too). Tempest well aligned until about 10, then slightly higher than the barani (as well as the ws80) and then from 13:20 onwards the ws80 kept lower and lower than the barani, as well as the tempest but from 16 onwards and slightly less below.

- TEMPEST DIFFERENCE COMPARED TO THE BARANI PRO (not very large deviations, as in recent days we are always with a maximum -0.6 ° C, while the ws80 maximum deviations up to -0.8 ° C):

- MEDIUM WIND ECOWITT WS80 AND STORM:

- TEMPEST BURST AND ECOWITT WS80:

- TEMPEST RADIATION AND ECOWITT WS80.

- HUMIDITY OF THE BARANI PRO - HUMIDITY STORM:
1. Froggit HP1000SE PRO;
2. GATEWAY GW1003 (ws80/wh40/wh32-ep in barani standard)
3. GATEWAY WH2650 (3rd station)(1 WH32-EP METAL, 1 WH40)
6. LIGHTING SENSOR;
7. OTHERS WH31 NORMAL and 1 WH31-EP
8. RAIN SENSOR;
9. WEBCAM HP10 (beta test)
10. LOW COST STATION (WN1900).

- MEDIUM WIND ECOWITT WS80 AND STORM:

- TEMPEST BURST AND ECOWITT WS80:

- TEMPEST RADIATION AND ECOWITT WS80.

Charts for today, 30-8-2021:

- TEMPERATURE OF THE BARANI PRO - TEMPERATURE TEMPEST and WS80: today the behavior of the ws80 opposite to that of yesterday, yesterday it was mostly below the barani, instead today it is on average above. The storm, on the other hand, is always under the barani in my position, while it goes above the barani in correspondence with the sudden lowering of the radiation caused by the pole behind the station that "shadows" it in those minutes, and from then on also because of the reduction of solar radiation probably the correction will be disabled.

- DIFFERENCE OF THE TEMPEST COMPARED TO THE BARANI PRO (today much wider deviations for all sensors, in recent days the storm has always remained at the -0.6 ° C maximum deviation while today we also reach -1 ° C; while the ecowitt has both greater positive and negative deviations (+ 1 ° C compared to the barani).

- MEDIUM WIND ECOWITT WS80 AND TEMPEST (Wind lower today than yesterday):

- TEMPEST BURST AND ECOWITT WS80:

- TEMPEST RADIATION AND ECOWITT WS80 (radiation even today lower):

- HUMIDITY OF THE BARANI PRO - HUMIDITY TEMPEST- WS80 (humidity not exactly aligned with the storm, we are about -2% until 7:40 then more aligned):
1. Froggit HP1000SE PRO;
2. GATEWAY GW1003 (ws80/wh40/wh32-ep in barani standard)
3. GATEWAY WH2650 (3rd station)(1 WH32-EP METAL, 1 WH40)
6. LIGHTING SENSOR;
7. OTHERS WH31 NORMAL and 1 WH31-EP
8. RAIN SENSOR;
9. WEBCAM HP10 (beta test)
10. LOW COST STATION (WN1900).
