I do not see Amcrest listed in the brands that are supported. Is anyone using an Amcrest camera with Wecam 7?
Thanks,
RyN

I've never heard of Webcam7. Do you have a product website? I did a brief web search for it but I didn't find anything official looking.

But regardless, any software that claims to work with IP camers should not need to specify by brand which camers it supports. Rather what the software documentation should say instead are the protocols and standards that it supports. Then you match up those requirements with the capabilites of the camera.

Hi ,

Thanks for the response. I used to own Hikvision cameras and had it working with Webcam7. I was looking for a software that would enable me to provide the stream to my site.

Ryan,

Several years ago I used WebcamXP, then Webcam7 with Foscam cameras, which are very similar to Amcrest. The program then became Netcam Studio and I used it with both Foscam and Amcrest cameras.

About 4 years ago I started using Blue Iris to stream all my cameras. I currently stream 6 Amcrest cameras and a Wyze camera. Blue Iris is a great product with great support.

Hi Steve,

I used to stream Hikvision with webcam 7 but could never get real time streaming on my phone. I switched all my cameras to Amcrest and what a big difference. Picked up a 4k Amcrest at Microcenter in Denver and it's great. The Amcrest app is phenomenal. I will give Blue Iris a try. Is there a monthly fee or one time? Thanks for the reply!

I actually have 6 of them here at the house and 4 more at our beach condo. They are great. I have one of them set up in RTSP mode so Blue Iris can use it. You can see it here:

I'm a big fan of these cameras, especially for the price.

Hey Ryan,

Blue Iris costs $69.95. You get one year of automatic updates and support. Then, if you want, you can pay $29.95 each year for continued auto-updates and support. If you don't go this route, you lose support. If you want to update, you then have to download them manually. Support has always been excellent from BI so I keep that going each year.
