Atlas AcuRite new installation replacing ...

... a +23 year old Rainwise WS-2000

Hi,

New here and new weather station from AcuRite, an Atlas 7-1, installed on May 12th after my very old +23 years Rainwise WS-2000 quit its job. BTW the chat support of AcuRite is sometimes not acceptable. Very confusing answers.

Located in central Mexico in the town of San Luis Potosi. The anemometer is situated 2.8 meters over the main station and everything was mounted on the Rainwise tripod.

Will see how long it works reliable. Has anyone experience how UV degrades all those plastic parts and after how many years do they get brittle ? UV as far as I know is the biggest enemy of plastic parts.

The copper wire and the PVC plastic structure on the eft side in the middle of the image is a specialized antenna for Radio Meteor Observation and the nig white part on the bottom is the roll off roof of my Observatory  [tup]

Rainer

I enjoy seeing station pictures. Nice setup. I like the remote wind ability my 5 in 1 doesn't have that.
