New Ambientweather 2902C station in Castaic, CA

(1/1)

jrabakker:
Good day all,

New to the forum, and a new local weather observer. Not new to observations though, as a merchant navy officer and captain in my previous career I've made countless weather observations at sea.

I set up my new 2902C station in my backyard, overlooking the southern entrance of Tejon Pass in Southern California. I have a front-row seat when the pass closes for icy conditions.
We get typically start out the day calmly, but especially in summer, the wind starts to pick up around 11 am. Quite nice when it gets hot!

To ensure there is enough height on the station I opted to get a flag pole. While I am not an American citizen (yet), I fully support my host country so I think it's appropriate to fly the stars and stripes at all times (yes, it's illuminated at night).

I am already sharing data on findu.com (FW9489), and just got approved by CWOP, now waiting for my MADIS ID.
