getting garbage readings from wind vane WS-2902c
« on: April 16, 2021, 11:36:06 PM »
Hey y'all. Thanks for reading.
I have a 4 month old station (WS-2902c) and noticed recently in the last few weeks the wind direction has been become chaotic, even when there's no wind at all. Note this is not a wind vane sensitivity issue, I taped the wind vane into place so that it cannot move to confirm this, and for 8 hours the sensor continues to send garbage data of a random direction every update interval. I should be seeing readings constant and due north.
What could the problem be?
Or what are some solutions?
Has anyone else encountered such an issue?
All other sensors appear to be working perfectly.

Sounds like a warranty case. I'd contact the seller to get the outdoor array exchanged.
Especially if a full reset (see manual) of the array doesn't give any change. That I would try of course first.
Sometimes (not only  8-)) electronic devices need a reset. But sometimes hardware needs to be exchanged/replaced too.  ;)
