Wind gust extreme for yesterday and today is incorrect
« on: March 18, 2018, 09:30:37 AM »
I've noticed that Cumulus often shows values with wind gust extremes from 2-3 days in the past on the Recent Extremes "today" and "yesterday" portion of the display.  Other data appears to match the actual.  Any thoughts on this?

I can't say that I have seen that.  I look at the 'Recent Extremes' 'Today' every morning to manually log in an upload including the 'time'.

How do you determine it was some days ago?

Enjoy,
Paul

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ] Paul, I can look at the data using WeatherUnderground, CWOP and others, and the Today's extreme is from yesterday, and Yesterday's Extreme gust was from two days ago.  It's been doing this for several days...

Odd I've never noticed this happening before either. If you haven't already close and restart cumulus. Look around and make sure dates are correct everywhere like on computer.  It's like there's confusion what day of the week it is somewhere.

Yes I can see that in looking at your WU data and the times shown on the Cumulus console, strange.  It was ok before?  Not sure how this could affect it, but your computer time and Cumulus time is the same?
You may want to post on Sandaysoft forum.

I checked mine and Today's High in Cumulus is the same high and time as WU today, and the same for Yesterday's in both Cumulus and WU.

Registered and posted in SandaySoft forum.  It wasn't always doing this but appears to have shown up one day the internet was down for several hours.
 Mmmm, about a week ago...

He was right. I changed the console time to match the laptop time exactly, and it reset properly for Today. Yesterday still show wind gust data from two days ago, but I bet that self corrects tonight at midnight.

Cumulus should set the console time to match your computer time once a day - have you disabled or not enabled that feature?

Sorry, I should have been more precise. The Cumulus console time and PC laptop time are in sync and have always been. However the Davis console time was off by several minutes, I think about 8. Once I synchronized the Davis console time with the laptop time it appeared to reset at midnight last night.

That's what I meant too :)  Cumulus sets the Davis VP2 Console time every day at 04:00 (by default) and at startup of Cumulus, however I can't remember if the time sync setting is on or off by default. Sounds like you should check your setting?

I have changed mine to 02:00 because resetting the time on VP2 console has a by-product of resetting the console radio reception stats which I also monitor.

A-ha!  I went into settings and sure enough there is a setting to synchronize the Davis console clock!  I never noticed this, and it's apparently off by default.  I went ahead and selected that, but note I don't see a place to set the time it does this.  Thanks for being persistent as I totally missed this.

You have to edit the cumulus.ini file (with Cumulus stopped) to alter the time.
