@buffy

Can you test this station: IGMINAMI4 and what conclusions do you take from the tests?

Everything looks ok. I see actual values and also charts with correct data. Should I see something else?
You have also active solar sensor and it's sunrise.

How to explain that on the WU portal data is displayed at different intervals - see the link:https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IGMINAMI4
and your app is reading regularly - how did you write?

yes, there can be delay between online values on website and values in app. But I download only public data from WU. I can not influence it. What I get is what I show in app.

I tried your PWS in app and on link above and I see little bit different values. I'm not sure why. I think there is delay. On your link, you see more fresh values.

This is the problem that one IPOMORSK23 station is presented by WU and by your app regularly and the other IGMINAMI4 at WU and at you with different intervals. Both stations send data every 16s to WU - that is, identically.

I understand that you are downloading data from WU after processing by WU, or what it presents on the graphs? Or maybe you download in a different way - what? Can you give it? I am looking for the reason for the loss of data before the presentation on graphs in WU and you.

My chart data are in every 5 minutes interval. I see your PWS id IGMINAMI4 and I see your data in very different interval, maybe that's why you see another values. See picture with last data from this PWS. Mainly time of inserted data to WU.

Is called "rapid fire" and you can send data as fast as every 5 seconds :)
I do.

Also it would be awesome to have it display on the lock screen and the taskbar like wu does on my phone. Ill switch in a heartbeat if you have that.

Sorry buffy but going to have to delete your app. Signed off on WU today.
They are just too unreliable and it seems they really don't want to fix their problems.
If you could find another data provider for the USA I would certainly keep using the app.
Good luck with your endeavors.

OK. understand. If you will find some another service, let me know, I will check it. Maybe I will add it to this or another app. Thanks for you tests.
One option for the USA is CWOP.

Is called "rapid fire" and you can send data as fast as every 5 seconds :) I do.

The station sends data packets every 16s and this interval is stitched in its software. This is not modifiable by the user.
WU aggregates packets for 5 minutes, averages data and displays in graphs and tables.

The window / Time slot on the WU / IBM server is opened cyclically every 5s and the packages fall into this window when it is open. If they do not get due to the time shift they are lost - but this is a very small percentage of losses  ;)

The fastest stations send packets every 5s.

This is the probable reason for the mismatch of some stations to these windows / time slots and the irregular presentation of data. ;)

I paid for this right away. As-Is 6 bucks is a steal. Just presenting me the data, not a lot of garbage like WU App. I deleted the WU App. I like that there is no map. Let me choose if I want to download that data, perfect. The compass rose page is outstanding!!

Put in Rapid Fire and a tiny compass rose on the main page it would be a total package. I would pay even more. Seriously.

Maybe squeeze in a little compass or just a direction arrow on the top banner???

Ability to add additional station would be great.

Keep up the good work.

What about contact with these folks and leverage the WiFi Logger?

https://www.weatherstations.co.uk/wifi-logger.htm

It would cover a lot of stations.

Thanks a lot for supporting us. Today I sent to store new version of Paid app for Android. There is option for autorefresh after start. Also in this version there will be available more stations for adding. But on this feature I'm still working.

Thanks also for ideas for improvements. I'd like see wind on main page too, but there is no so much space. But I'm also working on new app theme with swipe and more features.

If I understand right, you would like to see somewhere on mainpage rose with wind direction?

Interesting. I'm open for any cooperation. If they have open protocol, I can check options. thanks

By the way, while I know this isn't directly related to the app and its performance, I want to compliment you on the 'pwsmonitor.com' website.  Clean, concise, well laid out and to the point.  WU could learn a thing or two from you about web design.  =D>

That's what I was thinking. Even just an indicator arrow. Maybe in the little space left of the temp/under the station ID.

Or what about instead of text like "South" a little rose instead?
