Wrong windspeed settings

My windspeed setting is in m/s for some strange reason (my station was down for a week or so) what will happen if l change it? l know it says not to, but its meaningless atm to me.....will it cause a catastrophe or just affect records or something similar? l have a Davis Vue if that helps
