Is there any mention in the ultra-capacitor article as to why they're so sensitive with bending the leads?

It isn't very detailed, but I noticed that the electrolite is liquid.

How long has that magazine been around?

I don't think I ever heard of it before.

Nuts & Volts first issue was March 1980.  I think it's the only U.S. printed paper electronics hobbyist magazine.  There was Popular Electronics, Electronics World, Radio-Electronics, Poptronics, and others.
